The Fitzpatrick Name
The Fitzpatrick name has been associated with Auctioneers and Liquidation Services since 1978. The company was started as a one man operation and has grown to ten full time staff and, at times, up to twenty part time staff.
John Fitzpatrick, founder of the company, graduated from Mendenhall School of Auctioneers, High Point, North Carolina in 1979 and is also a graduate of the Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI), Indiana University and has conducted auctions in Newfoundland & Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Ontario. He was involved with many associations over the years including:
- Past President, Auctioneers Association of Canada, presently serving as director for Atlantic Canada.
- Member, National Auctioneers Association.
- Member, Auctioneers Association of Ontario.
- Past President, St. John's Lions Club.
- Past President, Business Association of Newfoundland & Labrador.
- Member, Cadet Service of Canada, retired with rank of Major after 17 years of service.
- Named Paul Harris Fellow, St. John's Rotary Club.
- Candidate, Canadian Certified Auctioneers Program, University of Western Ontario.
After selling the business to his long time friend & employee Blair Loveless in 2012, Blair decided to carry on the Fitzpatrick name & legacy as he became the new owner.
John passed peacefully away on July 7, 2014 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. He is fondly remembered & greatly missed by all who knew him.
